2.1. One of the duties of the believers towards the angels is avoiding everything that could annoy or offend them
It was narrated from Abu Talhah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, “The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.” [209] Narrated by Muslim, 1371.

Al-Khattabi said, “The words ‘The angels do not enter a house’ refer to the angels who bring down blessing and mercy, not the recording angels, for the latter do not leave a person, regardless of whether he is junub or not… As for dogs, this refers to one who keeps a dog other than a dog for farming purposes, guarding the flocks or hunting. If he keeps the dog because he needs it for one of these purposes, or to guard his house if he has no other choice, then there is no blame on him. As for images, this refers to any image of animate beings, whether it is three-dimensional or is engraved on a ceiling or wall, or is made on a surface, or is woven into fabric, or whatever it is. That is because all of that is included in the general meaning of the text, so it must be avoided. And Allah is the source of strength.” [210] See: Ma‘alim al-Sunan, 1/75.

Similarly, the angels are offended by that which offends the sons of Adam, such as unpleasant smells, filth and dirt. Jabir ibn ‘Abdillah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, “Whoever eats onions, garlic and leeks, let him not come near our mosque, for the angels are offended by that which offends the sons of Adam.” [211] Narrated by Muslim, 564. Al-Bukhari also narrated the prohibition on eating garlic (854).

Al-Khattabi said, “The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) did not like any of these things to be in his food or drink, and he would avoid them because he used to converse with the angels, and he said: “the angels are offended by that which offends the sons of Adam.” [212] See: A‘lam al-Hadith, 3/2033.

2.2. Regarding all the angels as allies
What is required of the Muslim is to love all the angels and not differentiate between one angel and another, because they are all slaves of Allah who do as He commands and refrain from what He forbids. The Jews claimed that they had allies and enemies among the angels, so they claimed that Jibril was an enemy to them and that Mika’il was an ally to them. But Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, stated that they were lying in their claim, as He said (interpretation of the meaning), "Say, “Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel - it is none but he who has brought the Qur'an down upon your heart, O Muhammad, by permission of Allah, confirming that which was before it and as guidance and good tidings for the believers.”
Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and His messengers and Jibril and Mikal - then indeed, Allah is an enemy to the disbelievers." (al-Baqarah 2:97-98)
