Firstly: Names for the arrival circumambulation
It is called Tawaf al-Qadim, Tawaf al-Wurood, Tawaf al-Warid, Tawaf al-Tahiyyah, and Tawaf al-Liqa’.
Secondly: Ruling of the arrival circumambulation
The Arrival Circumambulation is sunnah for one arriving from outside of Mecca and performing qiran or ifrad. [1019] As for Meccans, they do not perform the Arrival Circumambulation because arrival does not apply to them. As for one performing tamattu`, they start with the actions of `umrah in terms of circumambulation and walking between Safa and Marwah. This is the position of the majority: the Hanafis, Shafi`is, and Hanbalis.
