Overall meaning : Did We not destroy the past unbelieving nations, such as the people of Noah, ‘Aad and Thamud? We will follow them up by destroying the Quraysh unbelievers and all unbelievers who deny the truth. Thus do We deal with the wicked unbelievers.

Have We not created you, people, from a humble and base seminal fluid, which We securely keep in your mothers’ wombs until the term decreed for birth and, by Our power We perfectly form you from the drop of sperm and bring you into being as well-proportioned human beings. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will!
