Overall meaning : Yet the rich man has not attempted the difficult steep ascent and overcome it by striving against his lower self, whims and Satan and spending his wealth on good causes. What will make you, Muhammad, realise what attempting the difficult steep ascent and overcoming it? Overcoming it can be realised by freeing a slave or feeding, in times of severe famine, an orphan relative or a needy person who is lying in the dust because of his great need and, above all, to be of those who believe and urge each other to observe steadfastness and show mercy and compassion to the needy and the orphans. Those who have such attributes are the Companions of the Right Hand.
As for those who disbelieve in the signs of Allah bearing witness to His power and oneness, they are the Companions of the Left Hand. The Fire will be sealed over them, and they will never come out of it.
