Al-Masad - سورة المسد
Introduction of Sura
Names:
This surah is called Surat Al-Masad. [608] See: Al-Fayruzabadi: Basa?ir Dhawi At-Tamyiz, 1/522.
Makki or Madani?
Surat Al-Masad is Makki; more than one of the commentators narrated that there was consensus regarding that. [609] Those who narrated that there was consensus regarding that include: Ibn ?Atiyyah, Ibn Al-Jawzi and Al-Qurtubi. Objectives:
The most important objectives of this surah include:

1- Telling that Abu Lahab was doomed and lost.
