Overall meaning :
Almighty Allah says, explaining one of the scenes on the Day of Resurrection: Paradise on that day will be brought near to those who fear Allah’s punishment by doing what He commands and avoid what He forbids, and Hell will be placed in full view of those who have strayed away from the right path. They will be disapprovingly asked, ‘Where are those that you used to worship besides or instead of Allah in the life of the world? Can they now protect you or even protect themselves against Allah’s punishment?!’
Then they will be all be hurled into Hell, one on top of another—both the false gods and their worshippers, as well as the followers and helpers of the Devil. Arguing in Hell with one another, those who worshipped false deities will say to those they worshipped, ‘By Allah, we were in the worldly clearly far astray from the truth when We equated you with the Lord of all the worlds and worshiped you. It was but the wicked evildoers who led us astray from right guidance. So now we have no intercessors to intercede for us, nor a sincere, loving friend. If only could live our lives again, so that we might believe in Allah!’ Surely in this there was a great lesson, yet most of them would not believe. And surely your Lord, Muhammad, is the Almighty who vanquishes and severely punishes His enemies, and the All-Compassionate towards His servants, who does not hasten their punishment once they commit a sin.
