Overall meaning : Believers, fear Allah by doing what He commands and avoiding what He forbids. Let every person consider whatever deeds he has sent forth for the hereafter. Fear Allah; for Allah is fully aware of everything that you do. Do not be like those who have forgotten Allah by neglecting to remember him and obey His commands, and, as punishment, He has made them forget themselves. These are the rebellious transgressors. Not equal are the dwellers of the Fire and the dwellers of Paradise. It is the dwellers of Paradise who will be successful.
Had We sent down this Qur’an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbling itself and breaking asunder out of great fear of Allah. We set forth such parables to people, so that they may reflect on them.
