Overall meaning : Mention to your people, Muhammad, the time when Moses said to his people, ‘Why do you seek to harm me, my people, when you know that I am the Messenger of Allah to you?’ So when they obstinately deviated from the truth, Allah made their hearts deviate from true guidance. Allah does not guide the rebellious transgressors who persistently disobey Him.
Also mention to them the time when Jesus son of Mary said to the Israelites, ‘Children of Israel, I am the Messenger of Allah to you. He has sent me to confirm the Torah that was revealed to Moses before me, and to give you the good news of messenger after me whose name will be Ahmad.’ Yet when he brought them miracles testifying to the truth, the unbelievers said, ‘What he has brought us is nothing but manifest sorcery.’
