Overall meaning : We sent forth Noah to his idolatrous people, saying, ‘Warn your people against worshipping other than Allah before a painful punishment overtakes them.’
Noah delivered Allah’s message to them, saying, ‘My people, I am a plain warner to you: Worship Allah alone without associating anyone or anything with Him, fear Allah by doing what He commands and avoiding what He forbids, and obey me. If you do as I say, Allah will forgive you your sins and will not inflict a punishment on you that will destroy you completely; rather, he will delay your end until your appointed time of death if you believe in Him and obey His commands. The time of death Allah has appointed for everyone can never be put back. If you but knew this, you would certainly believe in Allah and turn to Him!’
