Overall meaning : “Some among us are righteous and obedient to Allah, while others are otherwise: we follow widely divergent ways. We have come to know for certain—after listening to the Qur’an and embracing faith—that we are under Allah’s absolute control and that we cannot frustrate His purpose by escaping punishment—if He wills to inflict it on us—whether we are on earth or attempt to flee to the heavens.
“When we heard the Qur’an, we believed in it; whoever believes in his Lord need never fear that Allah will diminish his rewards at all, nor increase his evil deeds in any way.
