Overall meaning : Every person will be locked in the Fire because of the sins he has done in this world, except for the believers who will be given their records of deeds in their right hands: These will have their sins forgiven and will not be locked in the Fire because of them.
The Companions of the Right Hand will be in the Gardens of Bliss. They will enquire about the dwellers of the Fire, saying, ‘What has brought you into the Fire?’ They will reply, ‘We were not of those who performed the prescribed prayers in the life of the world, nor did we feed the poor, and we indulged in falsehood along with those who indulged in it, and we continued to deny the Day of Judgement and Recompense until death came to us.’ Thus in no way will the intercession of the intercessors benefit such unbelievers.
