Al-Qiyyaamah - سورة القيامة
Introduction of Sura


Names:
This surah is called Surat Al-Qiyamah. [445] See: Al-Fayruzabadi: Basa?ir Dhawi At-Tamyiz, 1/490; Tafsir Ibn ?Ashur, 29/339.

Makki or Madani?
Surat Al-Qiyamah is Makki; more than one of the commentators narrated that there was consensus regarding that. [446] Those who narrated that there was consensus regarding that include: Ibn ?Atiyyah, Ibn Al-Jawzi and Al-Biqa?i. Objectives:
The most important objectives of this surah include:
Describing the Day of Resurrection, and speaking of its terrors and how people will be on that day. [447] See: Tafsir Ibn ?Ashur, 29/337; At-Tantawi: At-Tafsir Al-Wasit, 15/195.

Topics:
The most significant topics addressed in Surat Al-Qiyamah include:

1- The reminder of the Day of Resurrection and what will happen on that day.
2- Stating that the resurrection is something that is possible, it will inevitably happen, and the requital of deeds will take place on that day.
3- The etiquette of listening to the revelation.
4- The differences in conditions between those who are blessed and those who are doomed; those who are blessed are honoured and they have the promise that they will see Allah (%).
5- A reminder of death, and that it is the first of the stages of the hereafter.
