Overall meaning :
The Almighty says: We bestowed knowledge on David and his son, Solomon, and they said, ‘Praise be to Allah who has exalted us above many of His faithful servants.’ Solomon inherited his father’s knowledge and succeeded him as prophet and king. He said to the Children of Israel, acknowledging the favours Allah had bestowed on him and his father, ‘People, Allah has endowed us with the ability to understand the language of birds and granted us all types of favours and blessings. This is indeed a manifest divine favour.’
Solomon’s forces of the jinn, humans and birds, were all rallied and marshalled for him in their journeys, all perfectly organised and lined in orderly ranks at his behest. The procession moved on, and when Solomon and his soldiers came to the Valley of the Ants, one of the ants said upon spotting the approaching army, ‘Go into your dwellings as quickly as you can, ants, lest Solomon and his army inadvertently crush you underfoot.’
Thereupon Solomon smiled exuberantly at her words, and prayed, ‘Enable me, Lord, to render thanks for the favours which You have bestowed on me and my parents, and to do good deeds that will please You; and admit me, by Your mercy, among Your righteous servants in Paradise
