Overall meaning : Do those in whose hearts is a disease of doubt and hypocrisy think that Allah will not bring to light all the enmity and hatred they feel towards Islam and Muslims? If We pleased, Muhammad, We could surely show them to you, and you would recognize them by their marks which are visible on their faces; but you will certainly recognize them, Muhammad, from the tenor of their speech which clearly reflects their evil intentions. Allah has knowledge of all your actions, people, and He will repay you for them.
We will certainly test your faith and patience, believers, and enjoin you to engage in jihad to prove those of you who, according to Our foreknowledge, truly fight for My cause and remain steadfast, and We will put you to the proof to bring to light your true conditions and intentions.
