Overall meaning : Those who disbelieve, turn people away from Allah’s religion and oppose His Messenger after the truth has become clear to them will not, by so doing, harm Allah in the slightest. Allah will certainly make their deeds go to waste. Believers, obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not let your good deeds come to nothing by committing actions that render good actions vain (such as associating partners with Allah).
Those who disbelieve and turn people away from the religion of Allah and in the end die unbelievers—without repentance—will never be granted forgiveness by Allah. Therefore, do not falter and lose heart, believers, when fighting the unbelievers, nor sue for peace. It is you who have the upper hand, for Allah is with you, granting you protection and support; and He will by no means decrease the reward of your good deeds.
