Overall meaning :
Believers, do not presume to say or do anything before you have received the judgement of Allah and His Messenger, and fear Allah by doing what He commands and avoiding what He forbids; for Allah hears everything you say and knows everything you do.
Believers, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor call him by his own personal name or speak loudly to him as you would speak loudly to one another, lest your good deeds should come to nothing without your perceiving it.
Those who lower their voices in the presence of Allah’s Messenger are those whose hearts Allah has purified so that they would fear Him by observing what He commands and avoiding what He forbids. They will obtain forgiveness and a rich reward from Allah.
Most of those who call out to you, Muhammad, from outside your wives’ apartments are ignorant of Allah’s religion and the due respect and reverence they should show you. If they wait patiently until you leave your home and come out to them of your own accord, it will certainly be better for them. Allah is All-Forgiving, All-Merciful.
