Overall meaning : The people of Lot denied Our warnings. We rained down upon them stones, which destroyed them all except for Lot and the believing members of his family, whom We delivered in the last hours of the night—as an act of grace from Us. Thus do We deliver those who give thanks to Us for Our favours.
Lot had already warned his people of Our severe punishment, but they stubbornly doubted and denied them. Impelled by their perverted lust, they went as far as demanding his angel guests of him, that they might abuse them, so We blinded their eyes: Taste, then, People of Lot, My torment and suffer the consequences of ignoring of My warnings.
Early in the morning, a relentless and lasting punishment overtook them: Taste, then, My punishment and suffer the consequences of ignoring My warnings.
Indeed, We have made the Qur’an easy for admonition and to understand and remember. Is there anyone, then, who will take heed and be admonished by it?
