Overall meaning : The idolaters will, on Judgement Day, be in utter loss, hardship, misery and a terrible punishment. They will be dragged into the Fire on their faces, and they will be reproachfully told, ‘Taste now the punishment of the Fire.’
We have created all things bound by a preordained fixed decree, and Our command, when We will something, is but one single word: ‘Be,’ and it is as We will it—in the twinkling of an eye!
We have already destroyed nations like yourselves, People of Quraysh, who disbelieved in Allah and denied their messengers. Is there, then, anyone who will take heed, be admonished by the destruction that was inflicted on the former unbelieving nations and thus beware of suffering the same dreadful fate?!
Everything people do is to be found in their records of deeds kept by the angels, and every single matter, small or great, is written down.
The God-fearing who observe what Allah commands and avoid what He forbids will be amidst gardens and rivers, in a firm seat of truth and total bliss, in the presence of an All-Powerful Sovereign.
