Overall meaning : On that day the heavens will become like molten metal, and the mountains like tufts of dyed wool scattered in the wind, and no relative will ask a relative about his condition due to the utter horror and dread by which he will be overcome!
Although close relatives and friends may be within sight of each other, they will not even enquire about each other!
The unbelievers will wish to ransom themselves from the punishment of that day even by sacrificing their own children, their spouses, their siblings, their close relatives who gave them help and support and everyone else on earth, if that only meant they could be saved!
By no means! What awaits them is a blazing Fire that tears away limbs and scalps!
It will call those who, in the life of the world, turned away from the truth and embraced falsehood and amassed wealth that they covetously hoarded without giving away the portion due on it that Allah has prescribed for them.
