Overall meaning : What is the matter with the unbelieving Quraysh idolaters, that—for purposes of mockery—they rush towards you, Muhammad, with outstretched necks and staring eyes from the right and from the left in scattered groups?! Does each one of them hope that Allah will admit him into the Garden of Delight?! By no means! We have created them from a mere drop of sperm which they know full well.
I swear by the Lord of the rising and setting points of celestial bodies (sun, moon, planets) in the East and the West that We have the power to destroy the unbelieving idolaters and to replace them with better people; nothing can frustrate Our purpose and none of them can escape from Us. Let them, then, Muhammad, indulge in their falsehood and amuse themselves in idle pursuits until they face the Day of Resurrection on which they will be punished—the day when they will come forth in haste from their graves towards the Place of Gathering (the plains of Judgement Day), as though they were hurrying towards the erected idols they used to worship in the worldly life. Their eyes will be downcast with shame and they will be overwhelmed with sheer humiliation.
That is the day of which they were warned in the life of world and about which they did not care!
