Overall meaning : Allah Almighty informs us that Joseph’s brothers requested their father to let Joseph go out with them, after they had plotted to separate him from their father. 'Father,’ they said, 'why do you not trust us with Joseph when in truth we only wish him well and his wellbeing is our main concern? Send him with us tomorrow so that he may eat, play and have a good time. We will surely take good care of him and protect him from everything you fear might harm him.’ Jacob said, 'It would much grieve me to let him go with you, and I fear a wolf should eat him when you are not paying attention.’ They said, 'Should a wolf eat him when we are a strong group and there are so many of us, we would indeed be worthless and we should certainly die ourselves.’
