Overall meaning :
Allah Almighty concludes this surah by calling upon people to fear Him and to prepare for the Day of Judgement: Mankind! Fear your Lord by doing what He commands and avoiding what He forbids, and fear the Day of Resurrection, when no parent will be of any benefit to his child, nor will a child be of any benefit to his parent. Allah’s promise is surely true, and the resurrection and final judgement will certainly take place. Therefore, do not let this worldly life deceive you with its glitter and pomp, nor let Satan dissuade you from showing obedience to Allah.
Then He mentions the matters whose knowledge He has chosen to keep to Himself, and which are known to neither a privileged prophet He has sent or an angel nearest to Him, let alone anyone else: Allah alone knows when the Day of Resurrection will take place. He sends down the rain by His power and knows what is in the mothers’ wombs. No one knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no one knows in what land he will die. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware and nothing whatsoever is hidden from Him.
