Overall meaning :
And to Solomon We subjected the wind: its morning course covered the distance of a month’s journey, and its evening course a month’s journey. We gave him a spring flowing with molten brass, and the jinn who served him by his Lord’s permission. Those of them who did not do Our bidding by disobeying Solomon We will make him taste the punishment of the blazing Fire. They made for him whatever he pleased: prayer halls and palaces, statutes, dishes as large as watering troughs and firmly anchored cauldrons.
We said to David and his household, ‘Work righteousness, House of David, and give thanks to Me for My favours.’ Only a few of My servants are truly thankful. And when We had decreed his death, nothing showed the jinn that he was dead except a termite that gnawed away his staff. Then when he fell down, the jinn realised that had they had knowledge of the unknown, they would have known about Solomon’s death and would not have continued their hard, humiliating toil.
