Overall meaning :
Allah, Sublime be He, says: Say to the idolaters among your people, Muhammad, ‘I advise you to do only one thing: Stand up before Allah in pairs or singly, in all sincerity, leaving behind all personal prejudices and desires, and then seriously reflect on Muhammad’s life and conduct. You will thus realise that there is no madness in him! He is only a warner to you of severe punishment if you persist in your unbelief.’
Say to them, Muhammad, ‘No reward do I ask of you for my conveying my Lord’s message to you; keep it for yourselves. None but Allah can reward me; He is witness to all things.’ Say, ‘My Lord sends down revelation to His Messenger, and He has knowledge of all that is hidden.’ Say, ‘The Qur’an, which contains the truth has come; falsehood has utterly vanished and will never return.’ Say, ‘Were I to go astray, this would be only to my own detriment; but if I am rightly guided, this is entirely due to the grace of Allah who has inspired me to follow what He has revealed to me. My Lord hears everything and is near at hand.’
