Overall meaning : We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without a purpose. That is what the unbelievers think. But woe betide the unbelievers when they are cast into the Fire in the hereafter for making such erroneous assertions. Are We to treat those who believe and do good deeds like those that perpetrate corruption in the land? Are We to treat the God-fearing who obey Our commands in the same manner as the wicked who transgress Our limits? By no means! They are no equal in Our sight!
This Qur’an is a book which We have revealed to you, Muhammad, full of blessings and brings considerable benefits in this world and in the hereafter, so that people may ponder its verses and so that those endowed with an enlightened intellect may take heed and be admonished by it.
