Overall meaning : Do those who deny the resurrection on Judgement Day not see that Allah, who created the heavens and the earth and was not in the least wearied by their creation, is able to raise the dead to life?! Yes, indeed! He has power over all things.
Mention to the people, Muhammad, the day when those who deny Him will be brought before the Fire. They will be reproachfully asked, ‘Is this torment not real?’ They will reply, ‘Yes it is, by Our Lord.’ ‘Then taste the punishment,’ Allah will say, ‘for your denying the truth in the life of the world.’
Bear, then, Muhammad, the insults of the unbelievers with patience, just as all the messengers endowed with firm resolve did before you, and do not seek to hasten their punishment, for their retribution will be inevitable! On the Day when they see the punishment with which they have been threatened, it will seem to them as though they had stayed in the world but an hour of a day!
This Qur’an is a proclamation from Allah, giving sufficient admonition to those who reflect on it, and none will be destroyed but the rebellious evildoers who turn away from it.
