Overall meaning : The idolaters attribute to Allah some of His creation as His offspring, claiming that the angels are His daughters! Truly man is openly ungrateful to Allah despite the favours He has bestowed on him. Would Allah choose for Himself daughters out of His creation, as you idolaters claim, and favour you with sons?! When any of them is given the good news of the birth of girls which they falsely attribute to Him, his face darkens and he is filled with inward rage!
Would they, therefore, attribute to Him females who are brought up since their tender age among ornaments and cannot put together a clear argument?!
