Overall meaning : I have created the jinn and mankind only to worship Me alone. I require no sustenance from them for Myself, for themselves or for others; nor do I require them to feed Me or feed themselves or others. Allah alone is the All-Provider, who provides sustenance for all His creatures; the possessor of perfect mighty power, the All-Strong.
Those who wrong themselves by associating partners with Allah will have their full share of His punishment like that of their likes from among the unbelievers of the past nations. Let them not, then, ask Me to hasten their torment.
Woe betide, then, the unbelievers because of the day on which they will suffer the punishment with which they have been threatened!
