Overall meaning :
The God-fearing who observe what Allah commands and avoid what He forbids will be in gardens and in great delight in the afterlife, enjoying the bliss their Lord will have bestowed upon in Paradise, for their Lord will have delivered them from the torment of the Fire. ‘Eat and drink with relish,’ they will be told, ‘as a reward for the good deeds you used to do in the worldly life.’ They will be reclining on couches ranged in rows, and We will marry them to fair maidens with beautiful wide eyes.
We will unite the true believers with their offspring who follow them in their faith, so that their offspring will enjoy the same degree of reward in Paradise even though they might not have done the same meritorious deeds as their parents, and We will not decrease the reward of the parents’ deeds in anything because of their being united with their offspring.
Every person, however, will be held in pledge for his own deeds: He will not bear the burden of other people’s sins, be they parents of offspring.
