Overall meaning : Every single creature on the face of the earth (humans and jinn, among others) is bound to perish. Only the Countenance of your Lord—the Lord of Majesty and Glory—will remain for ever, Muhammad. Which, then, of your Lord’s favours, will you, humans and jinn, ungratefully deny?!
All the creatures in the heavens and the earth ask Him to fulfill their needs and grant their requests. Every day He is engaged in some matter, such as relieving afflictions, forgiving sins, granting petitions, healing the sick, giving life to some and causing death to others, and raising some people while abasing others. Which, then, of your Lord’s favours, will you, humans and jinn, ungratefully deny?!
