Overall meaning : The Almighty says: Have you not seen, Muhammad, how the Quraysh unbelievers have exchanged Allah’s blessing for unbelief? Instead of showing gratitude to Allah for sending you to them as a messenger, they have chosen to disbelieve in Allah and reject your message, and thus have caused their followers to dwell in the Abode of ruin and perdition—Hell, which they will enter and in which they will suffer from its intense heat that will encompass them from all sides. What an evil place to settle in! They set up false deities as equals to Allah and worship them besides Him to lead people away from His religion. Say to them, Muhammad, ‘Enjoy the pleasures of this transitory life for a while, for your destination is the Fire.’


Say, Muhammad, to My believing servants to duly perform the five obligatory prayers at their stated times and spend what I have prescribed for them from the bounties which We have provided for them secretly and openly, before the coming of the Day of judgement, when neither ransom, nor trade nor friendship will be of any benefit at all.
