Overall meaning :
The idolaters, Allah Almighty mentions, mockingly said to Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, ‘You who claim the Qur’an has been revealed to you, you are crazy to ask us to follow you and forsake what we have found our fathers practising. Why do you not bring us the angels to endorse your message if what you say is true?’ Allah replies to such ridicule and impudence, saying: We do not send the angels down except for a just cause and a good reason, such as sending them down with revelation or punishment, and not to meet the demands they make; for once the angels are sent down and they still persist in their unbelief after seeing them, they will certainly be punished without their being allowed any further respite.
Is this Qur’an not enough for them as a miraculous sign which Allah has sent down to His Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and which He has taken upon Himself to protect against all corruption?
