Overall meaning : Allah, Exalted be He, mentions some of the horrors of the Day of Resurrection, saying: On the day Our promise to level the barrier to dust comes to pass, We will let Gog and Magog come forth, surging like waves over one another, mingling with people and wreaking havoc among them. The Trumpet of the Resurrection will be blown, and We will gather together all mankind to judge them and repay them according to their deeds. We will, on that day, place Hell before the unbelievers, plain to view—those whose eyes, in the life of the world, were veiled from the Qur’an, stubbornly turning a blind eye to it and refusing to look at its verses and reflect on them, and who could not bear to hear My words. Do the unbelievers think that they can take My creatures as protectors instead of Me without My punishing them for doing so? We have indeed prepared Hell as a dwelling place for the unbelievers.
