Overall meaning :
Allah, Exalted be He, says: Surely those who recite the Qur’an, duly perform the prescribed prayers and give secretly and openly from what We have provided for them hope for a trade that will never decline, so that He will pay them their wages in full and give them yet more out of His bounty. Allah is All-Forgiving, All-Appreciative.
The Book which We have revealed to you, Muhammad, is the truth confirming the previous scriptures. Allah is All-Aware of His servants and their conditions and sees everything they do.
Then We bestowed the Qur’an on the nation (Ummah) of Muhammad which We have chosen. Some of them wrong themselves by neglecting certain obligatory acts and committing certain prohibited acts; some follow a middle course by performing the mandatory acts and avoid the forbidden acts; and some are, by Allah’s grace, foremost in good deeds: They perform all obligatory and recommended acts and avoid all prohibited and reprehensible acts. Such bestowal of the Qur’an on them is the greatest favour. They will enter the gardens of eternal bliss in the hereafter, where they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their clothing there will be of silk. They will say, ‘Praise be to Allah who has taken away all sorrow from us. Truly our Lord is All-Forgiving, All-Appreciative. Through His grace He has admitted us into the Eternal Abode—Paradise—where no weariness or fatigue will affect us.’
