Overall meaning : Allah says: As for the unbelievers, theirs will be the Fire of Hell; it will not be decreed for them to die and thus be saved from punishment, nor will its torment be lightened for them. Thus will We repay every ungrateful person. There they will cry out, ‘Lord, take us out! We will do good deeds, and we will not disbelieve in You or associate partners with You, like we used to do in the life of the world!’
Allah will disapprovingly say, ‘Did We not let you live long enough so that whoever was willing to be warned and repent might be warned? Besides, a messenger did come to warn you against Allah’s punishment! Have a taste of the torment, then. The unbelievers who have wronged themselves will have no helpers to protect them against Allah’s punishment.’
