Overall meaning : Long before the Quraysh unbelievers the people of Noah and the people of Ar-Rass (the People of the Well) denied the truth; and so did Thamud (the people Salih), ‘Aad (the people of Hud), Pharaoh who denied Moses, the people of Lot, the dwellers of the Thicket (the people of Shu’ayb) and the people of Tubba’(the King of Yemen): They all disbelieved the messengers and so the punishment with which I had threatened them was justly inflicted on them.
Were We, then, incapable of creating them in the first place?! No, We were not, yet they are still in doubt about Our power to bring the dead back to life!
