Overall meaning : Allah Almighty says, reminding the Children of Israel of the favours He had bestowed upon them: Children of Israel, We saved you from your enemy, Pharaoh, and We fixed an appointment with you on the right side of Mount At-Ṭur in order send down the Torah to you.
We provided you with good sustenance, manna and quails, which We sent down to you and which you received without toil on your part, saying to you, ‘Eat of the good things with which We have provided for you and do not transgress the limits regarding them by showing ingratitude to Me, or you will become justly deserving of My wrath. Those who become justly deserving of My wrath will certainly be doomed. However, I will surely forgive, again and again, those who repent of their sins and their unbelief, believe in Me, do righteous deeds and thereafter keep to the truth and persevere in doing so until death.’
