Overall meaning : We have ordained a rite of sacrifice for every former community of believers, so that they may pronounce the name of Allah at the time of slaughtering the grazing livestock He provided for them and give thanks to Him. Your God, mankind, who alone is worthy of worship is One God—Allah; therefore, submit to Him and obey His commands. Give good news, Prophet, of all good in this life and the life to come to the humble-hearted—those whose hearts tremble with awe at the mention of Allah out of fear of His punishment, who exercise patience in adversity, duly perform their prayers and spend in charity out of what We have given them.
