Overall meaning : The Almighty says: Next morning, he was in the city where he had killed the Copt in fear, apprehensive of what would happen and waiting to see what people would be talking about regarding him, when all of a sudden the Israelite man who had asked him to help against the Copt the day before cried out to him again for help! Moses said to him, ‘You are plainly a misguided, quarrelsome fellow who often quarrels with those from whose harm you cannot protect yourself.’ But when Moses was about to grab and strike the Copt who was their common enemy, the Copt said, ‘Moses, do you want to kill me today as you killed the Copt yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land and do not intend to make peace and reconcile disputants.’
Then a man came running from the farthest part of the city. ‘Moses,’ he said, ‘the nobles among Pharaoh’s people are deliberating on your case and conspiring to put you to death. Leave this city. I am a sincere adviser to you.’ Thus, Moses left the city, fearful and watchful, looking warily about him, fearing that they would catch up with him and kill him. He prayed, ‘Lord, save me from Pharaoh’s wicked and evildoing people.’
