Overall meaning :
The Almighty says: As Moses turned his face towards Midian, leaving Egypt behind, he said, ‘I hope my Lord will guide me to the road that leads to Midian.’ When he arrived at the well of Midian, he found around it a large group of people watering their herds and flocks, and at some distance from them he found two women holding their sheep back so that they would not mingle with other people’s flocks. ‘What is it that the matter with you?’ he asked the two women. They replied, ‘We cannot water our sheep until the shepherds have driven off their flocks. Our father is a very old man who cannot water them himself.’
So Moses watered their sheep for them without asking them for anything in return for his services, then he retired to the shade and prayed, ‘Lord, I am in desperate need of whatever good You send me.’ After a little while, one of the two women came walking shyly up to him and said, ‘My father invites you so he can pay you your wage for having watered our sheep for us.’ When Moses went and recounted to him his story with Pharaoh and his people, the father said, ‘Have no fear! You are now safe from those wrongdoing people, as they have no control over our land.’
