Overall meaning : Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, forbids His servants from coveting the bounties He has bestowed more abundantly on some of them than on others, stating that both men and women will be repaid for their good or evil deeds. Then he guides them to what is best for them: to implore Him to give them out of His bounty. Surely He has knowledge of all things.
Then He explains that He has appointed rightful heirs for whatever parents and close relatives leave behind and commands the faithful to give those with whom they have made a solemn alliance their due share of inheritance, reminding them that He watches over all things. This ruling has been abrogated.
