Ash-Shooraa - سورة الشورى
Introduction of Sura
Names:
This surah is called Surat Ash-Shura. [278] See: Al-Fayruzabadi: Basa?ir Dhawi At-Tamyiz, 1/418.Virtues and characteristics:
It was narrated that Al-Muhallab ibn Abi Sufrah said: Someone who heard the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) told me that he said: If you are attacked at night, let your watchword be Ha-Mim; they will not prevail.? [279] Narrated via Abu Dawud, 2597; At-Tirmidhi, 1682; Ahmad, 16615.
Makki or Madani?
Surat Ash-Shura is Makki, and it was narrated that there was consensus regarding that. [280] Those who narrated that there was consensus regarding that include: Al-Fayruzabadi: Basa?ir Dhawi At-Tamyiz, 1/418.

1- Highlighting evidence of the oneness and might of Allah, may He be Glorified and Exalted.

The most significant topics addressed in Surat Ash-Shura include:
1- Highlighting that the Quran is revelation from Allah, may He be Glorified and Exalted, and that He sent it to His Prophet as He sent revelation to other prophets.
2- Some of the manifestations of His power and the vastness of His dominion, and that He Allah, may He be Glorified and Exalted, is able to make all people one nation.
3- Criticism of the polytheists and citing some evidence that their ascription of partners to Allah is false.
4- The command to refer to the ruling of Allah, may He be Glorified and Exalted, in the event of dispute.
5- Affirming that the message is the same, and that the division that occurred among people is due to wrongdoing and following whims and desires.

9- Some of the manifestations of Allah's power and the blessings that He bestows upon people; He accepts the repentance of the penitent and pardons their bad deeds; He sends down rain upon them; He created the heavens and the earth and all creatures in them, and He is able to gather them; one of His signs is the ships that sail on the sea.
10- Some of the characteristics of the sincere believers.
11- Some details of the bad condition in which those who went astray will find themselves on the Day of Resurrection.
12- The command to respond to Allah and submit to His rulings.
13- Consoling the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) by telling him that it is Allah who will punish the disbelievers, and all that is required of the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is to convey the message.
14- Describing the nature of man at times of ease and plenty and at times of want and hardship.
15- To Allah belong the heavens and the earth; His might, and His giving children to whoever He wills.
16- How Allah sent down revelation to the prophets.
17- The surah ends with Allah reminding His Messenger of the revelation, and affirming that to Allah alone the affairs of all will ultimately come back for judgement.
