Overall meaning :
The Almighty says: We send down the verses of the Qur’an as a healing for the believers’ hearts from desires and doubts as well as for their bodies from diseases, and a mercy for them in this world and the hereafter; but it only increases the unbelievers, when they hear it, in unbelief, misguidance and loss.
The Almighty then describes man’s condition in times of ease and hardship, prosperity and adversity: When We bestow a certain blessing on man, he turns away from giving thanks to Us and shows disobedience to Us; but when he is faced with adversity, such as poverty or illness, he despairs of Our mercy. Say to the people, Muhammad: Every one of you acts after his own manner and according to the path he follows. Your Lord is fully aware of those who are best guided in their path, and He will repay each one according to his actions.
