Overall meaning :
Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, mentions one of the questions the unbelievers would put to His Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying: They ask you about the nature of the spirit. Say to them, ‘Its nature is known only to Allah, and you, mankind, have been given but a little knowledge.’
Then He points out one aspect of His power: If We wished, We could efface the Qur’an We have revealed to you, Muhammad, from your memory, then you would find no supporter to prevent Us from doing so or to help you recover it after it has been taken away from you. We have, however, made it firmly rooted in your heart and memory, all by Our favour and grace; for your Lord’s favour towards you is great indeed, both in this world and in the hereafter.
