Overall meaning : Help marry off the free single men and women among you, as well as the righteous among your male and female slaves. If they are poor, Allah will give them sufficiently out of His boundless bounty. Allah is All-Munificent, All-Knowing: He gives generously and is fully aware of people’s circumstances. Those who cannot find the means to marry must keep themselves chaste until Allah enriches them from His bounty.
As for those of your slaves who desire to enter into a contract with you to purchase their freedom on paying a certain sum, execute it for them if you find them faithful and know they can honour the contract. Give them some of the wealth Allah has bestowed upon you to help them fulfil their commitment under the deed of freedom.
Do not force your female slaves into prostitution in order that you may seek worldly gains, when they wish to preserve their chastity. If anyone compels them to prostitute themselves, Allah will after their compulsion be gracious and merciful to such women, but the burden of sin will fall on those who compel them to do so.
