Overall meaning : Those who fear their Lord’s punishment, believe in the verses of His Book, worship none besides Him, and give whatever obligatory and voluntary charity they can give with their hearts fearful lest Allah will not accept their good deeds, knowing that they are bound to be brought back to Him—these are the ones who hasten to do good deeds, thereby seeking to draw closer to their Lord; and they are foremost in doing them.
We do not charge a person with more than he can bear; and We have a Book in which all people’s deeds are recorded by the honourable angels—a book that speaks the truth, faithfully showing all the good and evil deeds that they have done in this world. We will repay them according to their actions, and none will be wronged.
