Overall meaning : The Almighty says: Remember, Muhammad, when We made a solemn covenant with the all prophets whereby they pledged themselves to follow what We revealed to them and to convey and establish the religion; as well as from you, and from Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus son of Mary. We made a weighty, binding covenant with you all, so that He will ask these truthful messengers on Judgement Day about their delivery of the message and their peoples’ response to it, and thus reward them for sincerely delivering the message; as for the unbelievers, He has prepared a painful punishment in Hell.
