Overall meaning : Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, says: Believers, do not enter the Prophet’s homes without permission unless you are invited to a meal. Do not come so early as to wait for it to be ready. However, if you are invited, enter on time; and when you have eaten, disperse, without staying there to chat with one another. Such behavior causes inconvenience to the Prophet who feels shy of asking you to leave, but Allah is never shy of telling you the truth and teaching you what is right.
If you, Muslim men, ask his wives for something, ask them from behind a screen. That is purer for your hearts and theirs. You must not hurt the Messenger of Allah, nor ever marry his wives after him; this would surely be a grave sin in the sight of Allah. Whether you reveal something or conceal it, remember that Allah has full knowledge of all things
The Prophet’s wives will incur no sin if they are seen unveiled by their fathers, their sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their fellow Muslim women and their male and female bondservants. Wives of the Prophet, always remain mindful of Allah and fear His wrath and punishment; Allah is a witness over everything.
