Overall meaning : Allah Almighty says: The hypocrites dread that Allah will reveal a surah concerning them, exposing the unbelief and hypocrisy they conceal in their hearts and instructs His Prophet to say to them, ‘Keep mocking. Allah will surely bring to light what you are dreading.’
If you ask the hypocrites, Muhammad, why they disparage your companions and revile your religion, they say, ‘We were only talking idly and jesting without intending to vilify Islam and Muslims.’ Say to them, ‘Would you make a mockery of Allah Almighty, His revelations and His Messenger? Make no excuses. You have revealed and confirmed your unbelief after having feigned belief to deceive the believers.’ If We pardon a group of you for showing true repentance, We will punish another group for persisting in their unbelief and hypocrisy.
