Overall meaning :
Allah, Exalted be He, states that He sent Noah to his people to call them to worship Allah alone and to abandon the worship of others. 'My people,’ Noah said to them, 'worship Allah alone; you have no other god worthy of worship other than Him. Truly, I fear for you the punishment of the Day of Judgement.’ The arrogant leaders among his people said, 'We can see that, by calling us to worship Allah alone and renounce the gods our fathers worshipped, you have deviated from the path of truth and are indeed in manifest error.’
He said, 'My people, I have not deviated from the path of truth by calling you to worship Allah alone and desist from worshipping others besides Him, but I have been sent to you by the Lord of all the Worlds, to deliver to you my Lord’s message and to give you sincere advice, for I know, through what Allah has revealed to me, what you do not know. Do you find it strange and deem it unlikely that a reminder should come to you from your Lord through a man from among yourselves, so that he might warn you of Allah’s punishment for your unbelief, that you might become mindful of Allah by doing what He commands and avoiding what He forbids, and so that you might be graced with His mercy if you obey Him and His Messenger?’
Allah Almighty then mentions that they called Noah a liar and rejected him, and so He saved him, along with all those he had taken with him onto the Ark and drowned those who rejected His signs, stating that they were a people who were blind to the truth and did not perceive it with their hearts.
